ON THE CUTTING EDGE . . .
The title of this study, led by the Rector, is meant to be descriptive of the kind of study that it is. Usually the Rector selects a book, but not one that dishes up the same theological fare that everybody has grown used to hearing. Instead, it will be a book that challenges old ways of thinking about God, Christ and their activity in our world today. If you dare to join this study, be prepared to have older assumptions critiqued and analyzed and challenged.
So far we have studied books written by such authors as Robert Farrar Capon, Marcus Borg, Bishop John Shelby Spong and C. Robert Mesle. We have studied such topics as Universal Salvation, Theology in the Post-Modern world, Process Theology and Historical Jesus Studies. In our current study, we are taking up "Meaning of Jesus, Two Visions" by Marcus Borg and N.T. Wright.
These studies are open to anyone who wishes to explore invigorating, post-modern, "cutting edge" theology. This study often attracts people from the community who are not necessarily members of Trinity Church, but are nevertheless searching for a new way to answer the older questions. You do not have to be a member of Trinity Church to come to these studies. All are welcome!

TRINITY FAMILY MINISTRY This ministry. led by a team of adults, is organized for the purpose of ministering to younger families, both parents and children. In addition to regular "Family Nights," we also plan various outings ranging from river rafting to sledding in the snow. We also have plans for a family camp. The celebration of this ministry culminates on 4th Sundays when we celebrate "Children's Sunday." On this day the young people in the church take part in the service, and a "Mystery Bag" sermon is offered to illustrate the Gospel message for the day. As a result of this ministry, the church is already begining to see an increase in younger parishioners and children. We invite you to become a part of this vital and important ministry.

They then proceed "downstairs" to their classrooms for a fun and interactive time of learning about the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Church School currently uses "The Whole People of God" curriclum each week. Most of our teachers are professional educators. Our Church School Director is Nancy Moore.

TRINITY HEALTH MINISTRIES
This ministry was developed in order to fill
the "gaps" in health care in our community. Our Parish Nurse and Director of Trinity Health Ministries is Susan Wahlstrom,a Registered Nurse who works directly with the rector and the rest of the Health Ministries team. Susan manages the day to day operation and is in the office
on Fridays by appointment. Anyone is free
to drop by with their health care concerns and questions.
Susan, assisted by several nurses, is also available after both services of worship on
Sundays.

THE COUNSELING CENTER
Trinity Health Ministries is very pleased to offer comprehensive counseling services in our community to offer psychotherapeutic counseling and educational services to individuals, couples, families and groups.
The Counseling Center operates on the philosophy that a healthy life is a balance of the physical, emotional, spiritual and relational needs of the individual. The Counseling Center at Trinity Church seeks to do God's healing work in Amador and Calaveras Counties by providing both psychotherapeutic and educational services. In addition, pre-marital programs are offered to couples who are seeking to be married. These programs have been so helpful to engaged couples that they are now required before a wedding may be celebrated at Trinity Church.
Care is taken to treat all people with respect for race, religion and sexual orientation. We are committed to helping people deepen their sense of self-awareness, self-worth, integrity and wholeness.
Our Counselor is Dr. Marge O'Neill, a California licensed psychologist.
The Counseling Center is conveniently located at Trinity Church, 430 Highway 49, on Sutter Hill in Sutter Creek. The phone at The Counseling Center is available 24-hours a day. The phone number is 209-267-0656. The voice mail in the office is completely confidential and all messages are kept private.
PETAL PUSHERS This program comes under the
umbrella of Trinity Health Ministries. It is our program
of visitations among the lonely, the sick and the shut-in. After each major service of worship, the flowers, which were given to the glory of God, are divided and taken to several of our sick and shut-in members and non members. Of course, a friendly visit is always part of the program. Sue Hansen is coordinator of this outreach.
TRINITY HEALING
MINISTRY This group of Lay Persons offer
prayers for healing with "Laying on of Hands" at the
time of Communion each week. In co-ordination with
Trinity Health Ministries, they will also bring their
ministry into homes through visitations. It is not
uncommon to see several people receiving this anointing
while others are receiving the Blessed Sacrament. There
have been many testimonies to the power of God working
through this Sacrament!
Our Rector, Bill Adams, is
chaplain to the Healing Ministers.
THE AMADOR COUNTY INTERFAITH FOOD CLOSET This ministry is only about 3 blocks from Trinity Church. We support the facility with volunteers and with food that is brought forward each and every Sunday at the offertory. The food is graciously given by members of our parish family. We also support the food closet financially.
FOYER DINNERS
We truly believe that in order to "reach
out," we must also "reach in." To this end we
offer a very successful program whereby approximately eight parishioners have dinner together once
per month for five or six months. At that time all
groups are re-organized. Our goal is to help each
member of our Trinity Family to really know the other
members of the family in a way that can't happen at
the "Coffee Hour" on Sundays. Currently we have over
50 people in this program, telling their stories and
sharing their lives with each other. We believe this
kind of sharing and fellowship is essential to our
team approach to ministry. The program is open to singles and to couples. Joy Blair is the
coordinator of this vital program.
EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN The Trinity E.C.W.
is the arm of outreach at the church. Almost their
entire budget is given over to helping many in our
community and throughout the world. Mary Mahoney is currently the E.C.W. President.
We have many other ministries besides those listed here.

hesitate to call us leave us a message by E-mail.(The E-mail link is on the home page).
